More about the Andrew P. Stewart Center and the Tournament:

Net proceeds from this tournament benefits the Andrew P. Stewart Center (APSC), an Atlanta, GA-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was founded in 1916. Today, APSC is focused on academic support and enhancing reading proficiency among 1st - 5th graders, character and leadership development among middle school and high school children in under-resourced communities of Atlanta.

APSC provides academic support, spiritual enrichment, and growth opportunities to over 200 elementary-aged children during the academic year through its After School programs. APSC’s Summer Camps provide over 70 children with practical learning opportunities that focus on academic readiness and emotional maturity. The Book Buddies program, which began at APSC in early 2013, helps struggling readers achieve greater reading proficiency through 1-on-1 tutoring and personalized curricula. The primary motivation for establishing this golf event is the opportunity to increase the awareness of APSC and to expand the Book Buddies program and other academic enrichment offerings.

"Golf is the cruelest game, because eventually it will drag you out in front of the whole school, take your lunch money and slap you around."
